John.C's story

I’m an easy-going and gentle person who believes strongly in fairness and justice. Growing up on a sheep and cattle property gave me a deep connection to nature, and I’ve always believed in its ability to improve mental health. I find peace and energy in activities like beach walks, daily swims, bushwalking, kayaking, and hiking up local landmarks like Mt Coolum, Ninderry, and Emu Mountain. For the past six years, I’ve been involved in men’s well-being programs, supporting biannual retreats in bush settings near Somerset Dam. I also love cooking and have successfully prepared meals for over 20 people during a four-day event. I’m passionate about helping others achieve their goals, and I enjoy getting out and exploring all the Sunshine Coast has to offer with the people I support. Currently, I’m studying for a Cert 3 in Disability and am First Aid and CPR certified. My experience includes helping care for my grandmother after she had a stroke and gaining valuable insight into disability support through my spouse’s 20 years in the field. With my life experience and understanding of care, I’m dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
